Doesn't this make you happy....

LuluDK's latest patterns

perhaps her trail of inspiration
It definitely made me smile. I'm absolutely crazy for this soon to be fabric by LuluDK. She is in the process of having it printed. I reminds me so much of Matisse's Paper Cut-out series, which I've adored since I was a little girl. There's a reason they called him "The Happy Painter." I hung the posters from the Icarus series in my preteen bedroom and thought they looked so smart with with my bold Marimekko bedding. Brights on white. Yum. I can't wait to get my hands on this fabric!!

  1. YOU, my dear, are the TOTAL BOMB! I so totally agree with your outline of how to go about recreating that black/white piece! I could detect a hint of a more umber undercoat so I had def decided to go that way first. but I had not considered oils - have NEVER used them before but there is always a first.

MATISSE! My total (have I used that word enough, here?) FAV. Caught some of his work at the High Museum in Atlanta, including some of the priests vestments, and cut-outs (the swimmer) and I could have go to heaven happy right then.

Your blog is terrific - I will be going thru it all tonight. I'm a follower!

  2. Loving that you're not sure what SAHM is.....I didn't either when I first heard the term! It's not as bad as MILF. ;0 It just means 'stay at home mom.' Now you and your husband can put to rest all of the awful things you may have thought up......haha! :)
